Also, if there was a single book that simply "doesn't fit in" with the other books of what most consider to be the "modern bible", it would be Revelations.

That is why I hold that the serpent was whom Adam later called Eve.

My mom saw a preacher on TBN named Jesse Duplantis. HE said that all angels are 7 foot tall blue eyed males! And by GAWD, she believes it.. Jesse went up to heaven with one of those lanky angels in a little cable car once. He should know! It's the GAWD's honest truth! Another time his car was magically transplanted to Layfayette, Louisiana. He made a phone call there and cured a young girl of cancer. Of course he doesn't remember the girls name, the doctor's name or anything else. But who needs proof like that when yer filled with the HOLY SPIRIT? Brother Jesse has the ANNOINTING!!!!

This is not a joke

This is a tough question and the only one who might have an answer has to be Charlie.

Yup. Try asking Charlie.

It's a bit too bad that Martin Luther didn't get his wish - he thought Revelations to be unscriptural, and wanted it out of the protestant canon. If I remember clearly, it was one of the last books that was approved for the original Catholic canon, and there was a lot of dissent involving it's inclusion.

Imagine though - no "Left Behind" series, no silly "Rapture" bumper stickers, and maybe a little more concern by the religious right on the here and now, rather than millions convinced that because the political situation today (and for most of the past 2000 years) can fit fast and loose interpretations of the pipe-dream prophecies in Revelation that there isn't gonna be a tomorrow (or at least no tomorrow someday 'soon') - ergo, why worry about silly things like overpopulation, global warming, and resource depletion....Gawd is comin soon and will take us to a bright and shiny heaven with oil wells that never run out, and climate controlled by wall switches (not to mention gold plated streets and such).

No offense Kally, but was your mom the model for Betty Bowers? It's a bit on the scary side thinking about what you must've gone through growing up.

I'm SOOOOOO glad I grew up in a solidly secular family

Cheers,

Hey Kally, now I know why your mom 'went' to Europe. Did you by any chance see them 7 foot tall blue eyed males when you were there?

It just doesn't seem fair.
Hi Rousseau_CHN
Life's not always fair...I really wish I had all the answers, there is so much I don't understand.
Ultimately I do trust in God though...

Lucifer is the good guy. He's fighting to save mankind from God.

God just has better propaganda.

Fallen Angels rule, Guardian Angels drool.

Hello Amie,

Precisely the point, life is not fair--humans are not fair, therefore, God, at least, should be fair. That is the least he could do. That is the least we expect from him.

I wonder if angels are still rebelling and going to join Lucifer these days. If angels had "free will" prior to Lucifier's being cast out, surely they still do. Isn't it disturbing to think that your guardian angel might get pissed off some day and turn on you?
Gawd, I love that...I'm thinking of using it to pester my mother-in-law. Who knows she might just decide to move out.

I'm picturing the scenario: "I had had it with you. You, you atheist...." I guess after then I'll fall to my knees, "thank you, Jesus."

Or maybe not...
