Perhaps David considers hating Christians and/or opposing religion to be equivalent to 'hating God'.

David: I must that I detect some hate for God in some atheists.

David: Do atheists hate Christians?

I find that very difficult to believe.

David: I can assure you, QueenofSwords, that I won't be asking anyone in heaven if he/she ever was known as "QueenofSwords."

I won't even be doing so in this life!

Atheists by definition do not believe in God. You cannot hate something you don't believe in. Therefore, if you "detect some hate for God" in some people then either (a) those people are not atheists, or (b) you are mistaken.

Helen has it right when she says

If an atheist expresses hatred toward Christians or religion, the Christian will often misinterpret this as "hatred of God".

Why is that so difficult to believe? That some atheists might hate Christians, I mean - not all. It is not inherent in atheism to hate Christians (or religion) but it's certainly possible.

Why do you find in difficult to believe that some atheists might hate Christians, and yet easy to believe that atheists might hate God (a being in which they do not believe)?

David: You are correct in saying so. Those atheists who do hate God are not authentic atheists.

David: I am being sarcastic. Of course, there are atheists who hate Christians. Some of them are here at Internet Infidels.

Best Regards,

I can't and won't guarantee your salvation if you remain as you are. If you hate God, blaspheme God and demand hell I believe that God does have every right to grant your wish.

My suggestion that atheists will get to heaven by God's grace is predicated upon the existence of atheists who do not hate God, blaspheme God and demand hell for their rebellion. Such atheists might accept atheism by faith or upbringing and yet still live an upright and righteous life.

It seems quite possible that God could save these atheists by grace though they never knew Him.

But I must say that I cannot guarantee anyone's salvation. I am not in the business of making such promises to you or anyone else.

Sincerely,

David Mathews
That's nice, David. But you forgot to answer my questions. To wit:

How do you explain all that "hear, believe, repent, confess, be baptized" stuff so that it doesn't conflict with your belief that it's possible for atheists to be saved?

You appear to be blatantly ignoring the bits that make the Xn god sound less than loving. I understand why you'd do this: it's difficult to believe in a benevolent god who would willingly cast anyone into eternal torment. However, ignoring the nasty bits doesn't make them go away. What do you do with them?

If you don't understand my questions, just say so and I'll find a different way to express them.

d

Your assurance is meaningless, since you contradict yourself so often, but I'm sure you realize that.

So, will you be there or not? What you are doing is not the issue - your mere presence is.
