Default Allah protects Baghdad?

The big news from Iraq right now is that a huge sandstorm has practically stopped the advance of our troops on Baghdad:

Sandstorms Thwart U.S., British Missions

Looks like God (Allah???) is on Saddam's side, not ours!

mymymy. i feel like falling on my face right now and begging the woman-hating Allah right now to become the Lord of my life, and to assist me in oppressing all the women i have as friends.

Well Saddam certainly has been mentioning God much more than Bush lately. Saddam's recently televized speech mentions God 28 times. "Holy war" was mentioned 7 times.

If that sandstorm is still there keeping us at bay a year from now, maybe I'll think about reconsidering my stance on Allah.

If that sandstorm blows over in a day or even a week, well, that wouldn't seem like much help from an omnipotent protector.

Yes, Allah is protecting Baghdad. But don't give up hope; Allah is not the one true god, and Yahweh and Mars, at least, are on our side. Not sure about the other gods, though I think that the gods of Descarte's philosophy, Freedom, Media, and Sex also support the war.

Have you noticed that there are more US casualties already than there were in the whole war against the Taliban? I think that's because Allah considers this war to be more unjust than the war in Afghanistan, and so is fighting harder. (He supported the Taliban, but I think he found it harder to blame the US for doing what we did.) And the old gods of the Middle East, like Baal and Amon-Ra, are more cooperative with Allah for the same reason, even though Allah has a history of oppressing them that continues today.

Based on the events of the last few years, I think if I had to choose sides between the Christian God and Allah, I think I would join Allah's side. Look at 9/11/01. Clearly, Allah was the victorious god that day (though there was that cross shaped hunk of iron from the WTC structure that, of course, strongly suggests the presense of the Christian God ). Also, Osama seems to have just snuck away unharmed, even with the US military on his ass. Plus, there's the USS Cole, African embassies, suicide bombings, etc. The Christian God is either not at home, or seriously sleeping on the job.

You have to remeber Yawehah is an older God. So he takes naps. Allah being only about 1500 years old has more energy.

Well, it looks like I'm not the only one making this interpretation:In an Ominous Sky, a City Divines Its Fate

Quote:
BAGHDAD, March 25 -- The wind's howl buffeted Imad Mohammed's window today, suffocating the peal of bombs from Baghdad's outskirts.

Across the sky, the black haze of burning oil trenches mixed with desert sand from a savage storm to wrap the city in an otherworldly glow. Paper, bags and cardboard were blown across the street. Traffic lights and palm trees swayed. A soldier hunkered near the Tigris River, a black scarf draped over his head like a veil.

To Mohammed, the relentless sandstorm was foreboding, a portent of divine will.

"The storm is from God," he said, looking out his trembling window. "Until the aggression started, never in my life did I see a storm like this. We all believe in God, we all have faith in God. And God is setting obstacles against the Americans."

The interesting thing at the end of this war will be, what will Islams think when Allah didn't do didly for them. They believe Allah will smite their enemies. So if we win the war, Allah obviously failed. Christians don't expect God to make them win because God loves everyone and doesn't usually take sides. Allah does.
