It's getting worse!!!

How? I went even further than the prophecy in the bible. I not only noted a definite (all nations will fall eventually) but I gave a specific (said race horse will be retired to pasture). My prediction is at least twice as hard to make as the egypt one. I do not see where you claim it is worse than the original. America will fall, a horse will win the derby, and egypt will fall from power. All of these are big head slapping "duh" statements.

I can think of other prophecies in other sources btw, that were much better done, and have a much higher percentage of completion. Do you wish to join another religion?

There were several failed prophecies in Ez 29. It was claimed that god would give Egypt to Nebuchadrezzar 29:19. Babylon never conquered Egypt. It was also claimed 29:6-16 that the entire land of Egypt would utterly devastated and that it would be uninhabted for a period of forty years. Neither man nor beast would travel through it during this period. This never happened either.

As for Egypt being the lowest among nations, they maybe fairly poor but it's still one of the wealthier African nations. There are plenty of nations lower than Egypt. Compared to Somalia, Egypt is a mighty nations indeed. There is no evidence that it has ever been the lowest among nations. It was an important provence of the Roman empire. Much more important than lowly Judea I might add.

Look at Egypt's pathetic attempt to fight Israel in 1967! Not even the Italians would have thrown in the towel so quickly.

malookie, are you kidding? The prophecy said that Egypt would never again be powerful. Between that time and now, Egypt has been the center of a small dynasty, and conquered other nations. That in itself shows that the prophecy is wrong.

The prophecy didn't say " someday Egypt will be weak". It said that Egypt would never again be powerful. It was powerful, that makes the prophecy a failure.

I can't believe you're still defending this.

Hey malookiemaloo,

When are you getting round to answering my post on Daniel? And have you discovered how weak the evidence for the resurrection is yet?

Greetings Joel,

Was wondering when I was going to hear from you!

No, I have not forgotten about Daniel or the resurrection. Unfortunately all my time is not my own but it is in the forefront of my mind and I will be in touch.

However, I've got side-tracked again. Have you seen Carrie's post on Matthew 24? That is occupying my mind just now.

Have a good weekend!

Has anyone seen Biff online lately? Or barring that, does anyone else have a source on an alternate translation of Psalms 22?

Try Bible Gateway. You can plug in any book, chapter, or passage, and get it in any of several different translations, for example.
