Interesting polling data on religion in America
USA Today poll breaking down religious persuasion state to state.
Take a look at these numbers for your individual states and tell me if you think they are accurate. |

I don't think Indiana is even close. Around here I'd say 80% of the people are Protestant.

Havign travelled a great deal and done a lot of business in the PNW, I'd say that the numbers in WA, ID and OR seem reasonable.

Yeah, that seems about right for Connecticut. I see a lot more Catholics than any other religious group around the state. And the state itself is pretty religiously neutral. The biggest problem we had with religion in government lately was an attempt to post "In God We Trust" in schools, which, as far as I know, quickly shot down.

I like the fact that No Religion stands out with its own special color. That ought to open a few eyes.
Whazzup with the Dakotas and Nebraska? All in single digit atheist figures, entirely surrounded by states with at least 13% right thinking people. Some kind of Northern Bible Belt? |

But...what's up with the "Christian" category separate from Catholic, Protestant, etc. Is that for the "True" Christians? [ April 17, 2002: Message edited by: Kosh ]
|
