Entering this thread rather late, but couldn't help but chime in to agree with the "wait awhile until you have children" part.

You've been given lots to think about. I can't say that I know the answers--I thought I knew the "score" when I was younger, but my major relationship took a turn that floored me for quite some time.

Some children will adapt to rearrangements just fine, but others struggle. I think it's important to try to keep their lives somewhat consistent, so try to be on an even keel yourself before bringing them into your world.
