Should we give money to Christians proselytizing in Afghanistan?
In this month's Glamour (yes, I am a subscriber) there is a rather cloying article about two young women who went to Afghanistan to preach the gospel of Christ, only to be caught by the Taliban and imprisoned.
According to this article, the women "loved prison" because it gave them "lots of time to spend with Jesus" yadda yadda. Made me sick. What's even worse - they have written a book on their supposed "ordeal" and are touring across the nation raising money (get this) to fund more trips to Afghanistan and other countries where proselytizing is outlawed and punishable by death. <sigh> |

The article was very blunt in stating that the two women do not try to preach stealthily. They have videos and CDs and bright flyers to distribute in a country where videos and CDs and bright flyers are about as common as flying pigs. If you're going to do something, do it well. |
