They shouldn't. Unfortunately, that doesn't keep them from handing me those idiotic chick tracts.

By the way, when is that arsehole going to croak?

because, their religion teaches them to love us, and it also teaches them we're going to be sent to eternal torment if we don't believe. Seems like plenty of incentive to me. What a silly question.

A Muslim reckons that Christians face 'eternal torment'. Should Muslims actively care if Christians renounce their faith and become Muslims?

Who is to say that God exists? Who is to say that 'hell' exists?

Besides I see no reason to be associated with 'religious people'.

This statement is untrue. The Qur'an specifically states that all members of the Abrahamic faiths - Christianity, Judaism, and Islam - are saved.

Please don't propogate things like this, especially concerning, ah, world events.

Oh no it doesn't. It in fact says to kill Christians and Jews, or anyone that renounces their Islamic faith.

Muslims don't try to convert Christians because it isn't a loving religion. They want Christians and Jews to be killed and go to hell. Where as we care, because we want you be saved and know God.

This makes no difference to people like me, who would rather die than become a xian.

Sincerely,

I don't really think religious people *should* care if others are not believers, however I think many theists who believe in the concept of hell and who believe all non believers will be spending eternity in flames feel as if they are somehow helping them because they don't want to see them tortured. I do also think perhaps some see their God belief as superior somehow to a nonbelievers. I don't think its a bad thing to share religious beliefs and views however to judge someone negatively *because* they believe differently is not a healthy thing in my opinion.

I personally always thought the "you'll burn in hell if you don't believe" was rather silly to say to someone who does not believe in hell to begin with. It would be comparable to someone telling me "believe in Abadaba or you will burn eternally in Nanoo"
I really need some coffee

Regardless of whether you will be successful in convincing someone that Hell exists and that they are going there, it won't stop you from caring about them, right? I certainly would care a great deal if the people I knew were going to be eternally tormented, even if they didn't believe it.

If your knowledge is so vast that you'd (rather rudely) state your opinion as such, then why don't you post a few verses from the text to back up your statement? It's easy to say "you're wrong" but not so easy to say why - for example, I think I recall someone on CNN telling me that the Qu'ran says X about how to treat religious infidels, but I'm not going to blatantly contradict someone on the subject until I'm damned sure I'm right.
