Default Index of Subjects: or, how to find those old posts

Tonight I decided to create an Index of Subjects for those issues that seem to come up again and again and for which easy reference to past discussions is useful.

I would welcome your feedback, including suggestions for additional threads to which we should link.

best,
Peter Kirby

Good work, Kirby. I have only two questions.

1)Would it be beneficial to add threads on papyrology, MSS etc.?

2)Why the hell does Yuri have an entry?

Sure. What are the links to discussions that have taken place here on papyrology?

So that people can find the old posts on Yuri's theories.

Dear Peter,

I think its great that you decided to group the threads under topics.

Yuri's inclusion in the "index" is an innocuous idea. However, I think Yuri ought to work more on his theories. His site is, for all intents and purposes, about Magdalene gospel. The rest of his work is scattered all over the internet.

His work on the secret Mark is more comprehensive and well argued compared to the evolutionary view - which IMHO, is of greater importance.

He should, with due respect, put a finer point on his arguments. For example, he expects one to familiarize oneself with the works of Alfred Loisy as a necessary background to understanding his "theory" he also points one to go and read his website. This itself shows that its not internally supported. It's not self-sufficient. It cannot stand alone when read with a skeptical eye with a different background than his.

But of course, that itself doesn't disqualify it from inclusion into your "index".

Like I said, its inclusion is innocuous.

On a separate note, I think you should include links to Dohertys ideas on the Apostolic fathers - under the "Arguments against HJ".

I also have a theory that Wisdom evolved from her female status (as a virgin earth) to Jesus in the course of time:

Virgin Earth (from creation epics)->Proverbs/Sirach->Wisdom / Sophia is born->James' Mary - Virgin Mary->John's Logos Christ -> Christ Jesus.

This thread

It would be interesting to know why it didn't qualify to be included in the "Index". I do not intend to contest its exclusion but now that we have put up specific "theories" some, well...

But of course, its your prerogative
