Yeah, especially since christmas isn't about christianity anyway.

Jesus wasn't born then (if at all)
The christians co-opted a pagan solstice party to make their own holiday more popular.
The tree is pagan not christian.
Santa is commercialized even if he is "St. Nick".
Most of christmas's supporting cast is not religious. (Frosty, Rudolph, Olive the other reindeer, the Grinch, even Ebeneezer Scrooge)

So it's not that nuts then; it's actually more accurate to refer to it as a holiday tree, and Christianity takes another hit (always a good thing).

True, it's not that big a deal to refer to it as a "Christmas" tree, but it's also an equally small deal to simply refer to it as a holiday tree; so why make a big deal out of the small deal?

Frankly, I think being down on "PC" has been done to death, & I've <a href="http://iidb.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=47&t=000091&p=" target="_blank">said so</a> in the past.

Quote:
"Calling a Christmas tree a 'Holiday' tree is taking political correctness too far," Ms. Lindsay-Luby said in a statement.

. . .
Ms. Lindsay-Luby, whose motion is seconded by Councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong, said she has received a number of calls from angry constituents who are demanding that the tree be given its proper name.
Just noticing - what's with all these hyphenated names?
