Question Christian maps

Looking at <a href="http://iidb.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=45&t=000586" target="_blank">this stupid Jesus face on the ocean floor</a> made me think about a History channel show about the history of mapmaking.

I wasn`t really paying attention to it until they mentioned some ridiculous Christian maps that were being made at the beginning of the dark ages. The maps were big pictures of Jesus that had known areas of the world asigned to Jesus` body parts. (ie....Jesus` heart was where Rome was. Jesus` left hand was Isreal and his right was Europe etc...)

They were extremely stupid and useless maps, but they were the only thing the church would allow. I think they were called somthing like "T&O" maps, but I think I must have heard wrong since no web searches have been fruitful. What I remember very well was the shows narrator, after talking about these maps, saying "And then the world plunged into the dark ages".

Does anyone know what this type of map is called or where I could get more info on them?

Nope. Your map superimposes Jesus onto actual geography.

The maps I`m talking about are the other way around and had discarded known geography in favor of a world in the shape of Jesus` body.
