My wife me this couple who were convinced crop circles were true (just for starters).
We went and had dinner with them, and I played along the whole evening thinking it was a great joke; but they were completely serious. You would not believe the stuff these two believed in. I was literally rolling on the floor. Needless to say, we were never invited back. Too bad - I wanted to interview them! Turns out they got all their information here: Art Bell's Radio Show Is he serious about this, or just the world's best unknown comedian? Sample below, on the air tonight. Quote:

For a detailed account of circles in southern England where it mostly all started (Cheesefoot (pron. Chessfoot) Head is just up the road from me here in Winchester), I recommend Jim Schnabel's Round in Circles, where Sagan got much of his material on Doug and Dave etc. Schnabel started as an investigator, and ended up making numerous circles himself. The book gives the lowdown on all the arguments and in-fighting between the groups analysing the circles, from Terence Meaden's meterological/physics explanations to Pat Delgado to the UFO nuts and tree-huggers.
It's a great read. I think it's out of print, so check libraries and www.abebooks.com. Cheers, Oolon |

I read quite an interesting article a few weeks ago (Can't remember where though - sorry), that said that the number of crop circles appearing in Britain has dramatically decreased during the Foot and Mouth disease outbreak when the countryside was closed. So much for flying saucers!

There are Czech circlemakers, as well.
I have always been skeptical about paranormal phenomena. Initially, I believed in the theory that crop circircles are produced by whirlwinds. After finding that site I learned that the first question I should have asked myself was: Is there any evidence that at least some circles are not man-made? Mike Rosoft |

Thanks Toto, that's just the kind of thing I was looking for.
And thank you also Oolon, I will definitely try to look that book up. Thanks to everyone for your responses. Steve |
