Why haven't you listened to Ojuice5001?
Although I am a Christian, not a polytheist like Ojuice, I find his belief system appealing, and better than most atheistic worldviews. Why don't most atheists?

I find it appealing, I just don't see evidence that it's true. Personally I think polytheism makes more sense, if you can call it that, than monotheism, but I have yet to see any evidence that any of these gods exist.

I find the concept of Christina Ricci falling madly in love with me and wanting to bear my children to be appealing. However, appealing as it is, it isn't reality. Therefore I cannot with a rational mind consider it anything other than a pipe dream.
If only theists could do the same thing with their fantasies, the world might be a more peaceful place. |

Ojuice bases his religious beliefs upon mental experiences (such as those of Postverta, the Roman goddess of the Past). But:
1. Experiences are very subjective. I haven't had any such experiences. 2. Scientific research has found areas in the brain responsible for such experiences (see for example Massimo Pigliucci's article here.) As far as evidence goes, there is no other reason for those experience than various configurations of brain chemicals. Which means materialism, rather than any supernatural theism, wins the day. Ojuice's beliefs, like dreams and hallucinations, are based on brain chemicals. Not a sound basis for a belief, I think, |

Magazine you claim in this thread to be a Christian yet your bio shows undecided. What gives? Trying to pull a fast one?

I made that profile two months ago. I have given consideration to Christianity, materialism, polytheism (not sure which form is the best), pantheism, and ancient so-called Christian heresies (Gnosticism). I am never sure which one is the best, though I lean toward Christianity both now and in general.

I'm not a mind-reader -- what do you find so appealing about polytheism? |

Is there only one kind of polytheism?
