Here's <a href="http://www.timesdispatch.com/vametro/MGBD5DJFFXC.html" target="_blank">another one about it.</a>
This has been happening in a number of states recently. Check the <a href="http://www.infidels.org/wire" target="_blank">Wire</a>. [ February 08, 2002: Message edited by: Kevin Dorner ]</p> |

Great, it clears committee at the beginning of the week. Then it clears the House by the end of the week. Why can't legislation that is actually important move so quickly?

It really pisses me off to see these right-wing pukes waste so much time passing bills like this that will almost certainly be struck down by the courts.
I will be VERY disappointed in Governor Warner if he signs this bill. |

...oh, Mark warner (i've been away too long [well, not really...]). um, in terms of National politics, virginia has the distinction of having one of two Independent members of congress / that's cucumber head (and i mean that inna good way) Rep. Goode. the other is Bernie Sanders of Vermont (the pro.gun socialist). still, i don't particularly care for virginia. why? Speeding Tickets. lots of 'em.

Fuck it. I've written numerous letters to my reps in the Indiana General Assembly and the Federal Senate& House. If you don't put a return address on it, they throw it away. If you do put a return address on it, they send you a fucking form letter. They all say," Thank you for your concern on this issue. Now fuck off."
I'm not voting for any incumbents ever again. If they stay too long, they go bad. |

Update from Michigan - It looks like our version of the 10 Commandments bill (House Bill #4226) hasn't had any activity lately.
Here's an interesting political tactic: two amendments were proposed that would require the commandments to be written in their original language and script (Hebrew) if posted in public schools. Another proposed amendment was from Rep. Lemmons: Quote:
