Couple believes God wants them to clone a baby
It never ceases to amaze me what people say "God wants them to do."
A couple featured on Connie Chung's program on Monday night believe it is their "divine destiny" to have a cloned baby-- "I think that God really wants us to do this, that it is the next step. I can't imagine any other reason why we haven't had a child, other than this is what we were meant to do." They plan to attempt to clone the mother and already have a doctor and his "secret team." A partial transcript of the discussion is here: http://www.cnn.com/2002/HEALTH/08/13/cloned.birth.cnna/index.html [ August 13, 2002: Message edited by: backslider ]
|

Quote:
1. God doesn't think they are fit to have kids. 2. God has other plans for these folks, and kids would get in the way. 3. God's "mysterious ways" require these people to suffer for no apparent reason. 4. God's will is totally inscruitable, and it's presumptuous for anyone to assume they know anything about what God wants. Oh, and of course: 5. Maybe they're worshipping the wrong God. Or worshipping the right one in the wrong way (hard to tell, these days). 6. There is no God, and maybe these folks just got the short end of the genetic stick. Jamie |
