God and Atheists
"Nobody talks so constantly about God as those who insist that there is no God." - Heywood Broun

Are you suggesting we not discuss the existence of god and accept blind faith as you do?
Don't you think a forum called "Existence of God" is possibly the most dimwitted place on the planet to post such a suggestion. |

If I was truly an atheist (typing that leaves a bad feeling in my fingers!) I would shut up about it and keep to myself.
I suppose you need ... reassurance of your (non)belief? Gemma Therese |

I talk about all kinds of things I don't believe exist. Don't you? Gods, ghosts, UFOs, ESP, etc. I don't believe these things exist; that's not to say I'm not fascinated by the concepts or the people that believe in them.

Gemma Therese,
I talk about these questions because the study of knowledge interests me. I debate issues not only relating to God, but to all sorts of pseudoscience, aliens, crop circles, kooks, nuts and charlatans. Do I need affirmation in my disbelief of Aliens giving anal probes or of elves darting about behind my back? No, I am interested in why people believe in such ridiculous things. Secondly, and equally important, I am interested in spreading good ideas. I think it's a spectacular stain on our society that delusion is so widespread. Quote:

Gemma Therese,
Way to dodge all of the arguments against your OP. Now, are you going to address my post, or are you going to run away with your crucifix-shaped tail between your legs? Sincerely, Goliath |

Moderators,
Obviously this is not intended to be a subtansive discussion. Might I suggest a transfer to RRP? |

Even if we did have doubts, us arguing about atheism, needing reassurance (which, obviously, many of us don't), etc., that still has nothing to do with whether or not atheism is true (or the most rational position to hold).
(Oh, and the fact you have to point out the personal shortcomings in others suggests to me you have a very low self-worth, and I would suggest immediate therapy at $145 an hour for 80+ years.)
