In regards to Hovind - most of us do unfortunately know a lot about this quack. Do a search in this forum for "Hovind" or "Dr Dino" and you will find plenty of enlightening discussions on the man!

Hello, I am new and already introduced myself at the appropriate page.

I am not sure about Hovind's assault case, but he did lose his case on paying the construction permits. The judge ordered that the Dinosaurland park has to follow the county's rules and the buildings built without permit have to remain closed until all matters with the county are resolved. (I assume that means paying the construction permit fee and some form of inspections by county officials). I have not heard anything as to whether he has paid the fees and the doors are opened again.

There hasn't been much update on his website.

I find his site fascinating, in that it goes to show how ignorant some are. It is scary to think he is for real.

I do find it amusing that on the site, he has a chart (Two Meanings of Evolution) of what evolutionists vs creationists believe. One side of the chart explains macroevolution, it has a rock with the caption that it is fantasy, based upon imagination and the question 'Our Common Ancestor?'. The second half has microevolution based upon logic and a leap of faith. Well, if one is to believe literally the Biblical account of how Adam came about (dust, dirt, clay)...isn't dust, dirt, clay to some extent made of weathered rock?

For what it's worth, I am chatting with a Hovind fan over at a <a href="http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp?topic=9008991&page=39" target="_blank">Jedi Council evolution vs creationism thread</a>. Even though I know that such people exist, it is always a shock to run into such stupidity.

It would have to be when he was 20. The brain doesn't start to develop until then. Kent Hovind says this and he was a science teacher for 15 years so he must be right.
