Oh, great, we'll be Barbies and Kens. But Barbie won't need breasts, either, I suppose. So flat Barbies. Nor will she need a uterus, those nice childbearing hips, etc.

The list of things we won't need could be extended quite a bit further, I suppose. Stomachs, intestines, lungs (probably won't need to breathe, if we don't need to eat), heart (not much need for blood if there's no food or oxygen to deliver), teeth (don't need to chew that non-existent food).

So what exactly will we need in heaven? Will we be stick figures or some sort of androgynous, featureless, pseudohuman?
We don't know exactly what it will be like, maybe there is a possibility that our uniqueness will dictate our own pleasure. Within the scope of God's will of course.

Yes it does. So maybe Paul is right. You can sit on the couch watching The Bachelor, stuffing yourself with Usinger's bratwurst and Pabst Blue Ribbon, while your neighbor's house burns down, your mother is calling because she's about to get raped but you're too lazy to answer the phone, and your one-year-old daughter is in the next room getting strangled by the venetian blinds cord, yet you don't lift a finger to help, and when your grease-clogged arteries finally give out, *poof*, there you are with Jesus simply because you "believed on Him." And all because you may have felt a twinge of pride within yourself for actually having done something to prevent these things.

And they call this a "religion"?
No, you are totally missing the point of everything, if you don't want to be serious and are just making fun at others expense, then why should I bother?

You become totally sarcastic and then expect any kind of logical discussion to flourish?

Without a theist your debates would be one-sided and not much fun I suspect, considering the basis for most of your posts here are in question to what God is all about.

Ah HAH!
God is like Ford, then?
"You can have any colour you like, as long as it is black."

You can dictate your own pleasure, as long as you let God dictate it?

Just our luck, the "scope of god's will" doesn't include genitals for our pleasure. Hell, mebbe we'll get lucky and our whole heavenly body will be orgasmic.

With due respect, I don't see where we should believe that God has genitals. Jesus did when he was in the flesh just like any other human, but creation is begotten and not conceived, so once Jesus ascended to heaven in spirit form, he wouldn't have genitals.

This is silly at best.

Excuse me, the scenario described follows from the "Saved By Grace Alone" doctrine.

I am an atheist. What do you expect. Despite the sarcasm, the underlying logic is there, and you are perfectly free to address it.

Simply telling me I'm "missing the point" is not worth a whole hell of a lot to anyone.

I thought Jesus ascended in bodily form. Or is that just a matter of interpretation?

And if genitals are so unimportant to god, then why the obsession with circumcision? Apparently he saw other purposes in them than pleasure and procreation.

Afar as I know all Christian sects bar one believe that Jesus rose from the dead and ascended in bodily form. That's why he insisted that Thomas thrust his hand into his side. (Urghh!)

The only sect that I am aware of that believes Jesus ascended as a spirit is JW.
