Exiting Roman Catholic church
Hello everybody.
Has anyone here officially left Roman Catholic church? Is it possible to sign out and does anybody have advice on how to start the procedure? Thank you, pilaar |

Hmm. Technically, I'm still considered a Catholic who just doesn't go to church very often by the church. I'm not sure how one would go about getting removed from the church records. Excommunication is always an option, but I'm not sure what legal methods one might have of going through this.
I wouldn't mind knowing, though. It's unsettling to me to know that I'm counted as a member of Catholicism, thus artificially boosting the members of this group. -Nick |

I ate Pascal's Wafer: I wouldn't mind knowing, though. It's unsettling to me to know that I'm counted as a member of Catholicism, thus artificially boosting the members of this group. ----------------------------------- This is exactly the reason I want to exit oficially, I don't want to be counted as a member thus giving them more influence than they should have. I gather there are many like us, not Catholic but still counted as members. Vatican has a web site, I emaled them for info but they did not reply. ---------------------------------- BigBlue2 If you're in Sydney, pretend you're gay. Archbishop Pell will excommunicate you faster than you can say "Ave Maria". ---------------------------------- Hehehe.... perhaps that would work here in Cairns too.... On the other hand, I don't want to pretend and lie to get out. I just want out! BTW, I don't know how to get the 'quote' lines happening. How do you do that? pilaar |

in the bottom right hand corner of their post. Alternatively, when in the "Reply To Thread" page, look at the buttons above the box you type in. There's a button that says "Quote." Click on it and a box will pop up. Write whatever you want to be quoted (or copy it and paste it in!) and click the "Okay" button. Alternatively, you can write the VBB code in yourself. Using square brackets, surround the words you want to quote with {QUOTE} Quoted Content {/QUOTE} . I've used non square brackets to show you how to do it. With square brackets that looks like this: Quote:

Assuming (from your name) that you're a woman: Get yourself ordained as a priest. They will excommunicate you immediately.
