Default Jesus' Third coming?

First coming-He came the first time as a baby and grew into a man and died for sin.

Second coming-He came back from heaven after the resurrection to be seen of his apostles.

Third coming-supposed to come again in power and glory.

Am I missing coming or had he come already the second time?

Sorry, you're missing something.

First time, He was born and died for our sins AND He is resurrected. His appearances on earth after His death were after He descended into hell but before He ascended into heaven. The second coming will be when He returns at the end times.

John 20
17Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.' "

Acts 1
9After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
10They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11"Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."

Luke 21
26Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. 27At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."

Mark 13
26"At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.

Sounds like the expected return will be the third to me?

Christians seem to have a lot of problems with numbers. They also think that even though they worship Jesus and his dad, they only worship one god... So I guess 2 = 1 and 3 = 2... unless you're catholic in which case 3 = 1 and Jesus still hasn't come yet!

No, see, that was Jesus' coming version 1.5. 2.0 hasn't come out yet.

The Christian God is obviously male. Why? Because only a man can take 2000+ years to come a second time.

In the epistles, Christ's coming at the end times is never even referred to as a second coming. You get the distinct impression that it will be the first time he is on the earth.

Actually, he came back several times. The last time was to see Paul while he was on the road to Damascus, or am I missing any after that?

According to several modern day evanglists, he's still popping around - although he's grown a lot in 2000 years - he's now over 900 feet tall according to Oral Roberts.

Good thing he's a carpenter. He'd never find furniture that would fit him at that height.

Too bad he wasn't a tailor too.
