Am I being too sensitive?
The town right next to mine recently had a carver donate a series of statues carved from wood. One of these statues is an angel about 9 feet tall which is standing on a public sidewalk.
I personally think this is offensive, but it might be because these things are all hideously ugly. I am not sure if there is anything I can or should do. Any suggestions? |

I'm not positive that something so insignificant is worth kicking up a dust storm for...must everything in this subject, even minute, necessitate legal retaliation?

Angels are artistic and cultural symbols, very much like unicorns or dragons. Most of the representations of angels are theologically incorrect in any case, so it is hard to argue that they establish a religion.

A facetious question aimed at assisting with perspective:
How do you feel about, react to, carved totem poles? An important biblical verse about "graven images": Exodus 20:4 (Perhaps the carver is not a theist. What do the other statues represent and where are they located?) |
