Default God can do whatever he wants

If God can do whatever he wants, then he can send atheists to heaven and Christians to hell. In fact, there is no proof that he won't do that. Why, then, do Christians believe in God when there is a 50% chance that they will go to hell?

There is a fifty fifty chance....

better safe than sorry?

You're both wrong. No one knows what the odds really are, though it is my suspicion that the odds are extremely low that there is a heaven at all.

If it actually was 50/50, then none of them would be safer than the other.

Well first you have to trust that god will keep his word, and that you're living the right life. Then you have to hope it's the right religion...

The odds don't seem good to me.

If God is Love, then it doesn't matter, you are forgiven either way, you may experience teh result of your actions throughout your life, in the famous flash-before-your-eyes thingie, so it might be more fun if you have been nice to others?

God can do whatever He wants?

Yes, He/It is awesome! The threat or reward of hell matters little to me.

I trust God is Love.

Then He could shrug His shoulders and say, "This is for a higher purpose of Mine that you are incapable of understanding."

Hehehe, or he could say screw it all, and not let you exist after death.
