Bugger off. We've tried that, and look what a mess they made of it. One minute they're shaking pointy sticks at the sky saying there are holes in it and the next minute they're trying to convince us that we're descended from monkeys!! Do me a favour. If that was true, how come my missus thinks I'm a pig?

I might point out that those who believe the Apollo program was a hoax are a very small minority. If memory serves it is under 10%.

I have a friend that believes the moon landings was a hoax. She is a reasonably intelligent woman though I would described her as closed minded.
I was talking to her one day about and she mentioned about the flag which was said to be waving in the breeze. I looked up about this on the Bad Astronomy site and the answer there made perfect sence to me. I told her about what I had read and all she would say 'I don't want to talk about it, I don't understand science' I then tried the same explanation on one of my sons who is of slightly below average intelligence (his IQ is about 83 though I don't consider IQ tests very highly). My son asked a couple of thoughtful questions and then said he thought that the Bad Astronomy answer made sense. If my son could understand a simple explanation why not my friend? The believe that the moon landings were a fake is ridiculous. It would mean that 1000s of people would had to lie including many non-Americans. Not only that but they would have to keep the lie going for decades. Such a claim is an insult to the wonderful brave men and women, both American and Russian, who have ventured into space. Some of them lost their lives in the attempt. |

^^ You are correct. My friend is intelligent but doesn't use that intelligence reasonably much of the time.
She rang me up last night with the strange notion that I must have said something about her to another friend because that other friend ignored her the other day. When I asked her for proof that I had said something she just said 'she had a feeling I had'. I ended up hanging up on her because she kept talking such nonsense. |
