I'd be willing to debate you on the human fossil record, if you decide to go with that.

I would like to debate wheather or not there is enough evidence based on the fossil record to show man evolved.</strong>

I think this is a teriffic idea. I have seen enough of geotheos' posts to know that he has some interesting points to make, and actually has some decent working knowledge of what he is talking about.

Debates with the kind of creationist that geotheo is are frequently fruitful and interesting, where many creationists insist on peppering the opponent with meaningless questions and trying to score points with incredulity and emotions. I'm sure geotheo, however, will be able to stick to the real science.

The problem I find is that ordinary threads with geotheo, being informal, tend to branch too rapidly, and never stay on one topic for long enough to reach a proper conclusion.

Personally I would dearly love to see the proposed debate with scigirl about abiogenisis, as its more of a hot topic than musty old descent with modification. We have all seen debates about common descent, but I have personally never seen an abiogenesis debate.

Personally, I agree with this I don't know that there is a whole lot new to be said about the whole "common descent" thing.

Ok, its agreed then as long as scigirl agrees. Abiogenesis it is! And thanks for the kind words Doubting. I really enjoy posting here also because of all the thought people put into thier posts and also the high amount of scientific knowledge here. Why spend all your time talking with people you agree with?

I'm sorry if I didn't make myself clear - I am willing to debate human origins, not abiogenesis. Mainly because, I don't have that much free time, I already understand a lot of the evidence for human evolution, and I already have a lot of research on it already. For me to debate abiogenesis, I would have to spend a lot of time reading about the subject (it is a lot more out of my field).

But I'm sure someone has the time, and better expertise, to debate abiogenesis with you.

Any takers?

No taker here, but a few kind words.

Thanks, Geo-Theo for your posts. I've enjoyed reading what you have to write. You seem to have a fine mind and think well.

Thanks Sci-Girl for debating Douglas. As my science knowledge is faily weak, it gave me an awful lot of food for thought.

Theo, kindly summarize the position you would like to assert and defend in the debate; no supporting evidence is needed right now, just tell what it is you would like to debate about abiogenesis.

Pending my seeing that summary, I will debate abiogenesis issues with GeoTheo. It might be a slow debate, as I'll need to read up on a few things....

You are very welcome, Bubba.

It was fun actually, and I certainly learned a lot from it. Namely - make formal debates more specific, and don't try to prove life, the universe and everything!

Life, the Univers, and Everything is easy. The answer is: 42.
