Default Meteors and the Permian extinction

So I saw a PBS show a few weeks ago, about a meteor impact that created a huge extinction event at the Permian boundary. It mentioned that the impact raised the world temperature 1 or 2 degrees. But that the impact, by itself, wasn't enough to explain the geologic record of extinction, however.

It then discussed Siberian lava traps, and a release of another gas (can't remember which one) that further raised the temperature 1-2 degrees. The combined effect of both events created the Permian extinction.

Did anyone else see this show?

Apologies if I don't have the the explanation 100% correct - feel free to fix it up.
