What did they find with her blood screening? If she was drugged for an extended period of time they should find evidence of it in her blood, and if it's been too long a hair test shows drugs in the system for months at a time. If they find the Rx then they have an easy case.

Keep us posted.

Are you taking any sort of action against them? These people deserve to PAY, and pay dearly.

Hmnn. Very strange. I would definitely check it out through legal channels, blood screens, etc., then hang 'em high if the evidence shows that this was truly the case.

One thing makes me wonder, however, and that's her claim of hearing "Amazing Grace" in her head and associating it with these Mormons.

I was a Mormon for the first 16 years of my life and never, not once, did we sing or play the song "Amazing Grace". It was not considered a "Mormon song."

Mormons make up their own hymns referring to Mormon history, Mormon prohets, Mormon gods, Mormon superheros, etc. They would not, and have not, co-opted this undeniably christian song.

Then again, Mormons are weird ducks who do practice brainwashing, albeit in usually more subtle ways than drugging the intended brainwashee.

*shrug*

Hang in there! I truly hope that your sister recovers well from her ordeal, whatever it was, and that if the Mormons were responsible that you nail them to the proverbial wall.

if these freaks were adminstering drugs to you sister it wasn't on behalf of the Mormon church. They were doing it because they were psychos that happened to be Mormons.

I really hate being put in a position defending the Mormon church, but I don't buy the connection at all.

The Mormon church doesn't drug people.
When one is on a "mission", one is not suppossed to have a job. You are a missionary. That is your job. Converting people and wearing shoes that aren't fit for bicycle riding.

Me, I'm skeptical about that "drugging" thing, too. I would investigate, and consider the possibility of an episode of mental illness (in your sister). People do really weird things when they're mentally ill. Of course, if hard evidence of drugging pops up (and if that was done over the period of a month, it shouldn't fail to do so), the perpetrators deserve the full force of the law thrown at them.
Have you tried to get an investigation by the police? I understand drugging someone against her will is a serious offense.

I am also, admittedly, extremely skeptical of the story your sister gave, Mandy.

First of all, Mormons do not drug people. They are evangelical at times, and some might even call them crazy - but I don't believe they make a general practise of drugging people in order to bring them to Christ. Secondly, Mormons do not sing "Amazing Grace" - my sister asked one of her friends (a 16 year old Mormon boy) and he said he had not even heard of the song until it was sung at a non-Mormon funeral when he was 8 years old.

I hope that your sister, your family, and yourself are very careful about pointing fingers before getting all the facts - meaning, the truth. A lot of harm can be done when lies are batted about.

Here's some information about Mormons and their beliefs regarding drug use:

Quote:
Alcohol,Tobacco, Tea and Coffee, and Drugs
These are all specifically banned in the Word of Wisdom, except for drugs. The prophets have made it clear that drugs, other than for medical use, are also banned.

Mormons are also strongly discouraged from drinking soft drinks containing caffeine.

Mandy,
I've merged your two threads for better clarity. I'd like to know if your sister has seen a medical doctor and a psychologist to confirm or disprove what you believe has happened. Her lack of memory, if not drug-induced may be self induced to protect herself from further punishment and embarrassment.

That said, and while your story does sound a bit wild and is yet to be confirmed by any evidence, I was involved in a very weird situation as a child which also was connected to Mormons and drugs. I lived in Salt Lake City and would walk home from elementary school every day. The Mormons were persistant in trying to convert my family. One day, two teenaged girls lured me into a church on my way home from school-- I can't tell you how exactly but I was suspicious. They had me sit down in a pew in this empty church building. I saw one of them out of the corner of my eye with a needle coming up behind me. They told me to just sit still. I waited a moment till I couldn't feel either of their hands on me, then got up and ran like hell all the way home. They gave up the chase. Having a big brother tease me and harrass me gave me a bit of an edge with these two girls. I knew bullshit. To this day, I'll never know what was intended there. But there it is.

Mandy-- I truly hope you are not pulling our legs with this story. If so, I recommend coming clean. If not, I'm sorry you are not getting 100% support here.
