Talking Warning! Christians cannot date non-Christians!

<a href="http://women.crosswalk.com/partner/Article_Display_Page/0,,PTID73970|CHID467200|CIID510388,00.html" target="_blank">Is it wrong for a Christian to date a non-Christian?</a>

The links answer? Yes.

I think it is an ideal example of how religion tells what you can and cannot do. The person answering the question claims that it is wrong to date nonbelievers because, of course, nonbelievers are "fools."

What's really pathetic is this was in answer to a question by a teenage girl. She's "really on fire for God" (oh pleeeeze) but the guy she is seeing isn't. Of course, the response was to refrain from dating such heathens. You know, if you expose xtian teenagers to unbelievers, the brainwashing might not hold.

*sigh*

I give great credit to Tricia/Lil for hanging out here. Even if she remains brainwashed, at least she's testing it

Binary logic. Wonderful, just wonderful. A graphic example of how religion turns people into computers, into machines performing instructions.

I'm an evolved ape and I'm proud of it! It's much better than being a Robot of God!

I'd like for them to come over here and say that.

Of course we can't have relationships with the faithful. We're the epitome of evil, remember? We might as well be the spawn of Satan himself, sticking innocent people with our recently sharpened tridents.

How about this tidbit:
Quote:
In your relationships with unbelievers, you do not want to give them too much influence over your life and your emotions. Instead, you want to keep a solid walk with God so you can witness to them and help them have their own relationship with God.
So now, not only are all the pretty Christian girls supposed to be off limits, but they're also supposed to be as annoying as humanly possible. That's fantastic. It's a good thing that nobody actually listens to this crap.

Christianity: Imposing a primitive social order on the world since, like, zero.

What's the anger about? She doesn't sound like the sort that has sex on first dates.

No great loss

Wow. Flashback. I heard that all the time in my years as a Xian, and it always made sense to me. Now when I read it, while I still understand the reasoning, it sounds horribly simplistic and elitist.

Since I married a heathen, it must not have sunk in too deeply! All that crap went through my head when my husband and I started dating (I also heard a lot about it from my "friends"), but the light of reason was just barely starting to poke into my brain at that time, and I realized I had to make my own decisions.

I'm now very happily married, and I'm also a heathen. I guess that just proves the whole point to them, though.
