Scientific American last month
Did we talk about this? I don't think so. but who else saw the stat in Sci Am's mag last month that more people believe in the 6 day creation myth than in evolution?!?! (In this country, of course.) I was really amazed. I guess I am just insulated, having been in a university environment for so long, I thought we were representative of the country, but I guess not. And before that I went to a total backwoods school in the most rural and hick area that I thought it was just natural that they had backwoods, hick beliefs. now I am sad to find I was actually exactly backwards in my guess about people.

For those who remember medved from Talk.origins. Yeah, he's there now. Medved's work. We have a really dedicated fellow who puts \this together. It also acts as a pretty exhaustive list of all of the crevo threads on that particular site. There have been a lot of them, and some of been very contentious. You begin to learn about real ignorance there. It could be worse than Baptist Board. On the other hand, I've met some pretty smart people there, too, so it balances out. |
