Did Jesus exist?
What does any think about the nature of the Biblical Jesus
My opinion is it all happened 2000 years ago, so who is going to gather the evidence to prove it?. But I certainly do rule out question 1 I just voted I am agnostic on this issue. |

This poll thing would be really cool if, before anyone is allowed to vote, we could get one person each to post a short defense of their chosen option. That unfortunately would require organisation.

Hello Crocodile!
Your first question in your poll needs a bit of clarification. As a christian and personaly, I consider the 4 Gospels to be the biography of Christ and the media of his teachings. I cannot however answer your first question with a "yes"since I do not regard the Old Testament to be accurate and the Bible indeed contains both Old and New Testaments. So I do not endorse all the references to Christ thoughout the entire Bible. You may find other christians with a similar perspective. My hubby is an agnostic in the sense that he aknowledges the possible existence of Jesus Christ and the positive contribution his teachings on human behavior may have for the betterment of humanity. He does not aknowledge his divinity .However you claimed that you are an agnostic but your reply to Ronin seems to denote that you deny JC's existence. Am I reading right? As an agnostic what is your perspective? |

I voted for one but must add that Jesus did not exist in the literal sense of the word exist. This is obvious in that when Christ was born they called him Jesus who therefore existed only in the myth.

Even though I'm not even close to 100% certain on this issue, I didn't want to wimp out and say agnostic, so I voted for my leaning, which is that Jesus is probably a complete myth.

Purely fiction: There are so many parallels to other mythological figures, and sons of gods. Jesus’s life story is a rip off of Krishna in the Hindu Vedas from 1k years earlier.
Jesus translated as useful, and many freed slaves were named Jesus….but no credible history records a Jesus as described in the Bible, who’s entire life is suspiciously similar to other more ancient stories. |

Agnostic on the issue. If he factually existed though the Biblical version of him was certainly greatly exaggerated, IMO.
