Fundies sneak "Bible history" classes into public schools
It seems that the Xians have succeeded at sneaking "Bible history" into the public school curriculum throughout the state of Florida. They aren't teaching about the Bible in a neutral way (as one would expect in a comparative religion course), they're teaching about the Bible from a strict Protestant/fundamentalist perspective. Here are a few examples of what's included in the curriculum:

What the...
[sarcasm] Yeah, guys, thanks for the help. I really need the Bible crammed down people's throats so even more of them hate it. Thanks a lot. [/sarcasm] It is apparently possible for two people with opposing views to agree against a thing for completely different reasons. On a side note, isn't it interesting that, along with poor spelling we get an errant definition of Biblical translations (The King James Version is, after all, one of many translations). Worst of all, from my Fundamentalist viewpoint, is the fact that paid Government workers are teaching children how to interpret the Bible. <img src="graemlins/banghead.gif" border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" /> |
