Post Low-grade intellects at ARN

Is it me, or does the arn.org forum have a higher concentration of idiots than the typical anti-evolution board?

Maybe I just find ID and its proponents more idiotic and intellectually frustrating than YEC.

It's not just you.

edited to add: I would appriciate it if you would change the title of the thread to remove the word "idiots". It doesn't look good for us to the casual lurker. It's your call though.

I agree with theyeti. We can talk more freely within the body of a post, but thread titles should be rather more circumspect. Rufus, I've changed it to a suggested alternative, but feel free to change it back if you feel strongly about it .

Cheers, Oolon

Thumbs up

You're right, I was slandering actual idiots by lumping them with some of the arn folks.

I like "low-grade" better. It has a certain quality about it.

With "idiots" I should have posted it in the rants section. But we might get some discussion about it.

When I was posting there last year, there were plenty of bright types, Mike the ID guy was really tough. Is he still around?

I'm over at arn right debating thermo in the 'chaos to clockwork' thread. I saw your posts too. There is a guy there named Jeptha. He is someone who has thought about thermodynamics a lot, but too bad it is all vague intuitions and a lot of it is incorrect. I find his style annoying, he arrogantly proclaims everyone else ignorant of thermodynamics if they don't agree with him, likes to say that he has 'won' several debates with PhDs simply because they gave up on him, and he uses abrasive adjectives. I regret that he sucked me into the same game, but I have since recovered. This is my first debate, and I have learned not to let him get to you.

I suspect he parallels creationists in general, they feel that if they can 'win' a debate in this style, then they are correct.

Cool

Optics guy,

I read the Thermodynamics thread the other day. Jeptha is terrible - he has been totally refuted by several people (including yourself), but he simply hasn't figured out yet that he has lost...talking of low-grade intellect...

I also read the thermodynamics thread, and I was impressed with your patience and fortitude. Not everyone that you'll debate is such a hard-head. Keep up the good work. If it were me, I would have given up quickly and flamed Jeptha and told him he was a total friggin' idiot -- I mean, low-grade intellect.

A few months ago Jeptha, posting at OCW as "Jep," ran the exact same arguments, and even the same posts. Check out his webpage (from his profile either at ARN, or OCW).

For a laugh, take a look at Judges 11, KJV and read the hero Jep takes as his handle. Jepthah is one of the biggest jerks in the bible.

Jep is a real wart on the ass of a dead dog.

While we endeavor to encourage free discussion, we must also point-out when a poster has crossed the boundaries of decorum and taste.

Your comparison is an offense to real warts, asses, and dead dogs everywhere; please think twice before posting such an insult again.
