Post The Alien Abduction Survival Guide!

I saw this book on the "new arrivals" shelf in my local library:

by Michelle La Vigne.
<a href="http://www.angusrobertson.com.au/featuredbook1.asp?StoreUrl=angusrobertson&bookid=0 970263015&db=us" target="_blank">The alien abduction survival guide : how to cope with your ET experience</a>
by Michelle La Vigne

Ms La Vigne has also given the world:

<a href="http://www.angusrobertson.com.au/featuredbook1.asp?StoreUrl=angusrobertson&bookid=0 970263007&db=us" target="_blank">Prophecy's Edge</a>

Quote:
Whether ET's exist or not is no longer the question. The new question is: how is the alien agenda changing our world? Michelle and Paul know a lot about alien agendas, as they have been the subject of a plan conceived by aliens for a long time. Can they succeed in bringing this alien prophecy to fruition?
<a href="http://www.angusrobertson.com.au/featuredbook1.asp?StoreUrl=angusrobertson&bookid=0 970263023&db=us" target="_blank">Lessons</a>

Exactly what is taught to humans in Alien schools? It's time to find out. This book explains the basics of reality, the nature of the universe, and what the genetic material collected by the ETs is being used for. "Lessons" lies before readers six principles that define true reality.
I leafed through The alien abduction survival guide; it was one of the most extraordinary pieces of delusional crap I have seen in recent times. I also note that it is priced at $A38.00 or so, for a flimsy 156-page "booklet".

I'm mad. I'm going to write to my library. That they should waste public resources on this sort of crap is a disgrace.

The text of my e-mail, which I just sent to the library:

Last Sunday (October 20) I was browsing the "New Arrivals" shelves at the X Library when I noticed (and skimmed through) the book "The alien abduction survival guide : how to cope with your ET experience" by Michelle La Vigne.

An internet search reveals that Ms La Vigne has also given the world books such as

"Prophecy"
"Whether ET's exist or not is no longer the question. The new question is: how is the alien
agenda changing our world? Michelle and Paul know a lot about alien agendas, as they have
been the subject of a plan conceived by aliens for a long time. Can they succeed in bringing this
alien prophecy to fruition?"

and

"Lessons"
"Exactly what is taught to humans in Alien schools? It's time to find out. This book explains thebbasics of reality, the nature of the universe, and what the genetic material collected by the ETs is being used for. "Lessons" lies before readers six principles that define true reality."

I think I need comment no further on the quality of Ms La Vigne's work, or its potential value to the X Library collection.

I was also interested to note that according to the Angus & Robertson site, "The alien abduction survival guide" is priced at approximately $38.00 and comprises some 156 pages (it is more of a booklet, than a book). I assume that the library pays less than retail for its books, but even so it would seem that this book has supplanted at least one other potentially valuable piece of material from the library's "potential purchase" list.

I must protest most strongly the use of the limited resources of the library to purchase such unadulterated rubbish as Ms La Vigne's book. I appreciate that the library must provide for all tastes and opinions; however I do not think it is unreasonable for the library staff to draw the line at material such as this.

And to think I used to believe in this alien abduction rubbish. Just like I used to believe in god. (All when I was a little kid without a shread of a rational worldview, that is).
