In all fairness, let's not forget that Gish, Morris, Sarfati et al have legetimate degrees from accredited universities. Wells and Behe also have legetimate degrees.

Even AIG doesn't take Baugh seriously.

Not all creationists are on the level of Hovind/Baugh. Even implying this gives the more sophisticated creationists rhetorical ammo. Idiots like Baugh are a minority amoungst creationists.

Most of em have the intelligence to get the degrees. It's just that they only got them to gain some credibility with their audience. They are creationists in spite of their education.

In fact Wells is a respected professor of law (well, I presume he's respected ) at that hotbed of the religious right, UC Berkeley.

(In the interests of legal paranoia, I've decided to take down the quotes I put up from the university's downloadable course catalog.)

No, I think you mean Johnson. Wells is neither respected, a professor, or a lawyer.

Wells got a Ph.D. in developmental biology (to the mortification of developmental biologists everywhere) at Berkeley. His current employment seems to be at the CRSC, at the Discovery Institute.

My bad, I was thinking of Johnson.

Unhappy

Hmm, on second thought better not put those up on a public forum. Someone might get antsy, legal-wise. Anyway the course catalog can be downloaded in PDF form.

Respected? The inimitable Dr Samuel Johnson, as always, has appropriate comment:

"...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'."

James Boswell: Life of Samuel Johnson

Cheers,

KC
