Thanks Wombat. I had worded my question incorrectly.
Someone might give up their belief in the Christian God per se, but retain belief in a Caring Creator-God or a God Whom Grounds Morals or something like that. |

I can't speak for everybody, but a lot of people who have posted here, including myself, that deconverted from christianity went through the creator-god stage or something like that. I went through a deist stage before I went completely atheist. (Since I learned about evolution the whole creator god thing seemed unnecessary to me.)
