Can self deception actually occur?
First off, apologies for my lack of content in this post, I was most bemused by this subject many years back on my degree, and try as i might, i could not argue that in fact, we can deceive ourselves, as opposed to simultaneously entertaining that which we're trying to deceive ourselves about, and the deception, and choosing to ignore the former.

You are absolutly right but we can sure be deceived and attract many followers because of it. So we either are deceived or we are not and if we are decieved we can deceive others.
