KTA - A troll is variously defined by various folks, but is usually taken to mean a poster who only shows up to prove they can type - they are not interested in discussion, but maybe in inflammation. There was a thread on this a while back, but it's probably archived now. And I have no clue which forum it was in.
I thought LOTR's cave troll was great! |

The word troll in internet parlance comes from a fishing method called trolling. Trolling is draging a lurer behind a boat trying to cover as much water as possible. You have no idea where the fish are, you just try to get a raise.
An internet troll is someone who is trolling, making any kind of statement at all, trying to get a raise. |
