Well, as a self-proclaimed math geek, I had to watch it just on that basis alone. I even own The Joy of Pi.
Yeah, kinda weird, but I'd read a little something about it beforehand, so I had an idea of what I was getting into. Very cool, though! |

I saw it. It was an interesting movie, although I'm still not entirely sure what it was about. I suppose that's sort of the point.

i concur, an excellent film, even though i don't fully understand it. the director, darren aronofsky, made a film after Pi called Requiem For A Dream, based on Hubert Selby Jr's novel of the same name.
dream my arse, that film's a goddamn nightmare. and i loved it. ![]() |

I didn't know it was the same guy either. Loved both those movies. I have Pi on DVD, and I'll probably buy Requiem too.
I like fucked up movies, so those two are right up my alley. |

Damn...can't remember the name (not "The Handmaid's Tale")...about a couple in Venice. It was just uneasy to watch because of the cinematography around Venice and the unsettling ending. "The Comfort of Strangers"...1990...that's it. (Interstingly enough, right after "Handmaid" and just before "The Favour, the Watch, and the Very Big Fish"). |

I Just watched an indie film called Following that was made by the director of Memento (though I didn't realize it until just now). At the time it reminded me more of the time jumps in Pulp Fiction and some of Tarrantino's other work except he (Nolan) didn't do nearly as good a job. It was like he tried too hard and was jumping around in time just to try to be "edgy". Memento was much better, but I'm sure the budget was several orders of magnitude different. Hmm, Comfort of Strangers isn't available on DVD, so Netflix doesn't have it. ![]() |
