Skepticos,

Quote:
Douglas needs to read Isaiah 45:6-7. There, it says that God created evil. Of course, you will have to go to the original Hebrew to get that reading, since most modern translators won't translate it literally.
I've explained this elsewhere on Infidels. Briefly, the Hebrew word translated as "evil"in the King James Version in the context you mention in Isaiah 45:6-7 can be translated in quite a number of related, but different, ways, depending on the context. The KJV is not in modern English, and uses many words in ways we speakers of modern English would not. The New King James Version has that word translated as "calamity" in place of the King James Version's "evil" in Isaiah 45:6-7, which is one of the possible meanings for the Hebrew word.

In Christ,

Douglas
