Job 26:7 "He stretches out the north over empty space And hangs the earth on nothing. People often quote the second half of this verse only. What does it mean to stretch out the north? The north is another word for the firmament or heaven. Stretching out heaven like a tent (Is40:22) and stretching out heaven over the empty space is actually the same. Just picture a tent-like dome. The dome material is stretched over an empty area. So God stretched out the heavens over the earth which is flat and in the shape of a disc. What about hanging on nothing ? Let Yahweh answer this one himself. Job 38 1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said, 2 "Who is this that darkens counsel By words without knowledge? 3 "Now gird up your loins like a man, And I will ask you, and you instruct Me! 4 "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding, 5 Who set its measurements? Since you know. Or who stretched the line on it? 6 "On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone So Yahweh contradict Job himself and tells him he is without knowledge since he was not there when God laid out the earth's foundations. You are you going to believe God or Job? |

Well, I've found a site that teaches that stuff to kids, who can't possibly know enough of the facts to make informed decisions for themselves. SEE: Complet List of Selected Discovery Articles -->among other things they have that "bible is scientific" stuff.
Fortunatly, I've found something that helps refute some of that stuff. Check outBible and Science the Bible and Science (first article). These help examine some of the claims and show that other ancient people knew about this stuff, too. There's also a rebuttal to Grant Jeffrey, a guy who pushes that kind of stuff. See: [review of] Signature of God. This should help out. P.S. to "Clutch" Quote:

Stupid me, I forgot some stuff. This is about the "accuracy" of the Bible and Medicine. See: Biology and the Bible

I wonder when they are going to demonstrate evolution from the Bible.
I'll imagine how such a demonstration might go. Several parts of the Bible mention genealogies, those tiresome lists of begots. These could be considered proof of the importance of genealogy in the history of life -- what is descended from what. And the Sermon on the Mount mentions a form of natural selection: a tree that does not bear fruit gets cut down. So all this could be "proof" that the real source of Charles Darwin's Origin of Species was the Bible. |

This would then make this verse consistent with the rest of Job, as well as fitting in with Canaanite mythology. |

Here is something I found on blood clotting where they say it's more evidence of biblical inspiration:
