Post Genesis 3:14

I am wondering what our resident biblical literalists make of the fact there are flying snakes?

See <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/science/08/08/coolsc.snakes/index.html" target="_blank">this CNN article and video</a> for details.

Surely:

Quote:
"And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:" (Genesis 3:14)
...cannot be true, since we now know at least one 'serpent' uses more than one method to move around.

Perhaps a mention of this snake also deserves a place in the evolution forum - it looks like an intermediary thing is going on here to me.

In addition, sea snakes spend no time on the ground at all, and there is very little dust for them to eat in the ocean.

Honestly! You people are going to take ALL the fun out of being a christian.

It's in the bible, and the bible wouldn't lie.

There are no flying snakes. Or sea snakes. Or tree snakes...

Heck with the bible, I can't seem to get beyond the "flying snake" / "Splat" convergence ...

From the CNN article, you can go to the Flying Snake Website and see videos of gliding snakes. Freaky looking things.

That would probably explain why they are nearing extinction.

Not so. I found a snake swimming in my pool skimmer yesterday morning and he ended up flying into my neighbors yard.

Please. The snake is not flying, it is gliding. Cats will glide for a while when tossed out of very high buildings.
