Angry Discovery Institute crows about the new Ohio education standards

Hold your nose and read the press-release <a href="http://www.discovery.org/news/ohioPressRelease.html" target="_blank">here</a>.

From the release:

Quote:
Calling this provision in Ohio's science standards "historic," Dr. Stephen C. Meyer, director of Discovery Institute's Center for Science and Culture, noted that "Ohio has become the first state to require students to learn about scientific criticisms of Darwinian evolution as well as scientific evidence supporting the theory.
I'd like to know what the scientific criticisms of Darwinian evolution are. ID obviously isn't one of them.

Cheers,

KC

I like the bit about the "compromise": students won't have to learn ID, just criticisms of evolutionary theory.

Golly, think that isn't a concession the IDiots needed to have built in?

"Okay, now that we've levelled a bunch of criticisms at evolutionary theory, let's turn to the positive content of ID.

Umm... "

Being from Ohio myself I'm just glad my children are home schooled so that they can get a real science education.

From another list what is actually been passed by the Ohio Board of Education is "Describe how scientists critically analyze aspects of evolutionary theory. (The intent of this indicator does not mandate the teaching or testing of Intelligent Design.)"

Yes. Paleoanthropologist Jeffrey McKee (who I think is at Ohio State) has stated that this was in NO way a victory for ID.

Cheers,
