Post request for links to dead sea scroll

Hi guys, I'm always curious about knowing the full actual contents of the dead sea scroll. Somehow, there are quite a number of rumors and debates on the church's intention to hide away some of the scrolls from the publics. So,does anyone of you have seen its full and uncut version?

I know print is dreadfully analog, but I would recommend getting Vermes "Complete Dead Sea Scrolls" and/or Eisenman's "Dead Sea Scrolls Uncovered". Neither of these contain the "full and uncut version", but I'm not aware of any publication that does. It's an enormous amount of literature and for that matter I don't think all the scrolls have been carefully studied. Although I am not especially conversant in the DSS so I could be mistaken.

Was just looking at Amazon.com and there is a translation by Abegg et al called "The Dead Sea Scrolls Bible" that looks interesting.

CX,

I am not sure if The Dead Sea Scrolls Bible includes the Sectarian literature. I think it probably does not. A good general introduction to the Scrolls is The Dead Sea Scrolls Today by J. VanderKam. The Complete Dead Sea Scrolls in English by Geza Vemes contains almost all of the sectarian literature. This translation has an excellent introduction, and is easier to read than the more literal one by Martinez and Tigchelaar.

You could try this: The Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Reference Library, Volume 1: The Dead Sea Scrolls on CD ROM (Oxford/Leiden: Oxford University Press & Brill Academic Publishers, 1997), eds Timothy Lim and Philip S. Alexander.

Or for background: Dead Sea Scrolls in their Historical Context (Edinburgh: T & T Clark, June 2000), eds Larry Hurtado, A. Graeme Auld, Alison Jack & Timothy Lim.

Alternatively there is a set of links to stuff on the net about the DSS <a href="http://www.torreys.org/bible/biblia01.html#qumran" target="_blank">here</a>

What's this about the church hiding some of the dead sea scrolls? Could someone give me a basic outline of what that's all about?

Hi guys, thanks for your recommendation but are all of you sure that those suggested books or websites really give an entire accurate account of the dead sea scroll? If so, what makes you so sure?
Sorry for being skeptical.

How can one ever be 'sure' about anything that is past? There are as many opinions about who wrote the scrolls as there were tribes of Israel.

I thought perhaps the Abegg volume would be a good companion to the Vermes tome. I believe they contain mutually exclusive texts.

I already mentioned that no single reference gives a complete account of the Dead Sea Scrolls. The literature is simply too vast. Much of it has not even been properly analyzed.
