Thumbs down God saved kids from crazy bus driver?

Article

Ugh...this is so annoying:
"God was able to keep his finger on it and keep them safe -- and we rejoice," he said. "I think He answered our prayers."

He was able to do that but couldn't stop the terrorists from ramming planes into the WTC? He let's millions of children around
the world die a slow painful death due to starvation and disease, yet according to this "Christian" he protects this small group of
children from this mentally unstable driver. What happened to the free will of the driver if their prayers were indeed answered?

Thumbs down

Where was god when that train hit the rearend of a shoolbus a few years ago, killing several children? Where was god when that drunk driver ran into a parked bus full of kids, immolating a bunch of them?

God seems pretty selective about when he steps in and "keeps his finger" on something. As a matter of fact, his "finger" seems to be pretty much equal to random chance.

I honestly think Christians don't logically think of the events when they credit god or blame the devil, it's just a habit (like masturbation ).

No, He didn't step in to prevent the planes from crashing, but He did step in to allow many to escape the towers. Praise Jebus! </sarcasm>

Did you by any chance see Larry King tonight? They devoted the entire hour to "the power of prayer." What a bunch of friggin idiots.

The "Power of Prayer" to me is just this: the power of the human mind to help heal the body. Visualization is really key, and some people find prayer an easier focus than visualization methods. Especially as visualization seems so new-agey and prayer so socially acceptable these days.

I agree. It is a habit. I recently watched a Dateline NBC all about a little newborn girl with numerous medical problems who was in and out of the hospital constantly for the first few months of her life. In the end, she lived and is now thriving. Of course, she is a "miracle baby."

I think it is very gracious of the medical community when they don't take any credit for their hard work and knowledge but instead allow family members and the media to broadcast that it was their prayers that achieved the "miracle."

Wink

Quote from CNN story:
There was no explanation for why the bus deviated more than 100 miles from the Christian school attended by the children.

God works in mysterious ways.

Not to mention, if god was able to keep her alive and help her thrive, why did he let her get sick in the first place, or why didn't he heal her on day one? An xian answer might be "to help us learn to trust in god and pray." My response to this is : WHAT KIND OF A SICK BASTARD WOULD DO THAT TO A BABY TO TEACH ITS PARENTS A LESSON? AND WHAT KIND OF PARENT WOULD WORSHIP AND ADORE SUCH A SICK BASTARD?

Apologies in advance for the all caps.
