Tell him you saw a program on TV that said the best way to lead a healthy life was to give his wages to his students, in order to decrease guilt levels. You saw it on a reportage on TV.
Pray tell, what does this man teach, and at what level? |

The problem is that I am in high school, and my teacher said that in front of the entire class. Most of those student are rather stupid ( like most teenager/people are ) so it couldn't surprise me if most of them actually believe what he said.

Apparently, the military did experiment with ESP. But it failed considerably. (Or so we are told....)

Knowing the high school education system in America this man probably teaches an Honors or Advanced Placement course in either Psychology, Physics, Anatomy, or Political Science. <img src="graemlins/banghead.gif" border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" />
And to think, these are our educators. I'm starting to believe that the governments policy on Education hasn't changed since 1889: “Our schools have been scientifically designed to prevent over-education from happening. [...] The average American (should be) content with their humble role in life, because they're not tempted to think about any other role.” William Torrey Harris, U.S. Commissioner of Education, 1889 |

As an ex-submariner, I can tell you I never saw or heard of any telepathic communication. Never sent or received any either.
While there may be such programs in existence, I would bet their effectiveness is not related to telepathy. The methods used by the military and other organizations supporting it are good enough to seem like telepathy, and without a background in science, technology, or military tactics and strategy, a lot of stuff seems supernatural or magical. Your teacher may be well meaning, but is definitely ignorant. |

Yes, the CIA ran this experiment for years and spent millions of dollars as well. Under various names, The Stargate Project, MK Ultra and others. Uri Geller even got paid to participate. ESP, remote viewing, LSD and hypnosis & mind control. A good book on the project is "The Stargate Conspiracy" by Lynne Picknett (Amazon UK had it but not Amazon USA when I ordered it anyway) The CIA had to pay $700,000 in a lawsuit by the widow of a scientist who killed himself while on acid they gave him without telling him. <a href="http://wheel.dcn.davis.ca.us/~btcarrol/skeptic/esp.html" target="_blank">http://wheel.dcn.davis.ca.us/~btcarrol/skeptic/esp.html</a> these sites have references to some of the CIA stuff. <a href="http://wheel.dcn.davis.ca.us/~btcarrol/skeptic/remotevw.html" target="_blank">http://wheel.dcn.davis.ca.us/~btcarrol/skeptic/remotevw.html</a> [ March 17, 2002: Message edited by: marduck ]</p> |

Any teacher that relies on "TV reportage" as a credible educational resource should be hung upside down in the playground. |

About 20 million dollars was spent by the CIA on remote viewing (where someone describes the surroundings of another person whose position is unknown to them) before the project was abandoned. This was instigated due to methodologically flawed research which showed significant efects of remote viewing. In fact, there are still people that make their living as <a href="http://www.probablefuture.com/pRVteam.htm" target="_blank"> professional </a> remote viewers! Hmm....I wonder why none of them have claimed the $17 dollars for locating Osama Bin Laden yet?
