I always go for guys who are intelligent, vigourous, (in all senses of the word), ethical, are not afraid to say what they think or tell me what they are feeling, are ambitous, like classic rock 'n' roll and know their red wine! Bad boys without a brain do absolutely nothing for me.

Confidence. Bad boys exhibit it - often without judgment or emotional maturity. "Nice" guys often don't; they think they're nice, but they're really just pushovers. As a self-professed and recovering nice guy I really believe this is the case. The trick is to be sensitive and strong.

You can be as nice as you want and get all the dates you want, but not if you're looking at your shoes when you ask her out.

BUT! There are plenty of women who can't tell a confident man from a cocksure loser.

From these problems on both sides of the fence, we have many misunderstandings, and we have many trod-upon girls and heart broken pushovers.

The types I am referring to write music....

But I also know a couple of nice geeky looking guys that are real sleezes. They are bad boys too.

And now for an evolutionary biological view:

Genes for "bad boys" get passed on because such genes give a selective advantage to female offspring who are thus made more aggressive in mating with "nice boys", who are more likely to stick around and support offspring. Thus having the child of a "bad boy" and having the "nice boy" stick around and help raise it, is a selectively advantageous strategy for females. Females do need to add a "nice boy" gene to the pool and that is done later on, though the mating is not as rough, and the "nice boy" calls back.

You have just an evolutionary biological view.

Sullster, i'm rather inclined to agree... and i subscribe to the dysfuntion seeking dysfuntion syndrome.....but i have not yet figured out beyond some notions why girls/women go for the tatooed, pierced rockstar.... is it becuse they want to tame them? Thus getting a purpose in life?
