Post Those lousy ammoral chemists have been lyihng to our children!!

for years chemists have been lying to children telling them that a new element was discovered! Now it's been exposed as a fraud!
<a href="http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?articleID=00001E33-9B03-1D34-BCD4809EC5880000&catID=1" target="_blank">Element 118 Dropped from Periodic Table</a>

How many children were deceived by this lie? What are the moral implications? This lie is obviously the cause of immoral behavour.

(blah blah blah blah blah. Insert creationist type rant here. don't feel like doing it myself)

Question

Who cares ???? Quick, name #112.

The last several elements are hardly significant to anything the kids do in chem lab.

OTOH did anyone have to give back their Nobel?

Uh, I was mocking creationist stupidity. Ya know, their reaction to Nebraska man and Archaeoraptor.

I thought that was rather obvious.

I suppose I should have ranted some more and claimed this discovery proved the entire periodic table a hoax or something.

Back to the four elements! Fire, air, earth and wather! This discovery obviously proves the evil, atheistic, ammoral, antichristian, bible bashing god hateing, periodic tableists (is that even a word?) are totally wrong with their anti god claims...

How many children were deceived by this lie?

Out of the few taking advanced chem, only the ones who were awake the milliseconds the minifactoid was mentioned.

Cool

Of much greater significance to kids of all ages, NPR just said on the 10pm news that scientists had proven chocolate [or a cocoa drink] was enjoyed for the last 2 thousand years in Belize rather than the previous date of only 1 thousand.

That divine Chicken Mole'!!

I'm a chemist, BTW, and besides lying to children, I enjoy raping the environment and thinking of new, uncomfortable synthetic fabrics.

I must have been the only person awake in class who actually heard that all those years ago.

Well, one less element to worry about for comps come August!

You see, you can’t trust anything scientists say. They are constantly arguing among themselves -- just read the letters in Nature -- and even ivory-towered chemists can’t even agree on something as fundamental as how many elements there are! The whole of science is riven by argument! Wasn't it Bertrand Russell who said that when the experts disagree, the ordinary man would do well to suspend his judgement?

And yet Evolutionists would have us believe we’re descended from monkeys! (‘Monkey-like ancestors, before you jump on me ) (That’s believe, mark you: it’s all ‘inference’, assuming evolution at the get-go.) If we can't believe what chemists say, just how suspect is something as derived as evolution?!
