What in the name of heaven does sperm competition have to do with evolution? It's pure ecology, nothing more

What's that tremor in the earth? Oh, it appears that S. J. Gould just rolled over in his grave.

I’m sorry, but most people are brain washed by these lies because most people lack common sense (and are way too gullible). We are lied to about everything. Open your eyes and see the light. Look at the evidence.
Now THAT'S irony!

Welcome to infidels!
Welcome, indeed! Another refugee from the BBC boards? Liam's around somewhere too. So far the BBC resident creationists haven't shown up here.

Hee. I had a cretinist on another board arguing that population genetics had nothing to do with evolution. Rufus: you paying attention? You better let your pop gen professor know as soon as possible so s/he can change the syllabus.

I've been told that developmental biology has nothing to do with evolution.

The only reply is that I can't think of a single discipline within biology that isn't deeply wrapped up in evolutionary thinking.

Oh boy, mturner..

Hey Itz - ask him to explain some science to you.

He can't do it.

He has admitted at least twice that he cannot understand primary literature.

You will notice that most all his many links are for newpaper articles, personal websites, or dumbed-down press releases.

I think that explains why he actually thinks that EAM is real and RM&NS is not - he is too ignorant to see why he is wrong. He also ignores - utterly - citations of papers demonstrating that directed mutations are not.

Oh well, I don't want to get chastized, so that is all....

And, despite his ignorant rants against what he doesn't know, he keeps admitting his ignorance without shame:

In each instance, you are using your intellect to devise a new use for something. But the standard evo synthesis model will NOT allow an intellect to be so employed. Any such secondary uses have to be arrived at fortuitously. And that's unlikely to put it mildly.
And that's complete bullshit, to put it mildly.

Hiola,
One was performing extensive research on
reptile-> mammal evolution. There was a depiction of a reptile next to a therapsid next to a mammal: you could see that the therapsid looked a little like both extremes. One distinctly remembers a desire to look at these fossils oneself- as one has had some training in this area. However all one could find were pictures of fragments or artist illustrations.
These illustrations are all some humans need to convince them that a reptile gradually became more mammal-like and finally became a mammal. Others deny the connections- attributeing it to wishfull thinking-usually these also claim to be xians. Most of these and many others do not know enough about paleontology to be able to say this truthfully. However, one would really like to see the skull of for instance: Hadrocodium wui, to see for myself the supposed quadrate/stapes articulation or whatever that scientists beam so much about. Otherwise I would be baseing alot of important biological understanding on faith. Faith in people- expert people granted, but still people.
I realize this is just unpractical though because it costs alot to even get a research grade cast, but you would think that someone would put the bones on a website with comparisons and pointers demonstrateing these modifications and stuff. This isn't just for reptile/mammal but also for fish/amphibian and whatever else. It would be an exelent way to satiate rabid antievolutionists, and if the depiction is actually showing a transition, then it would finally allow scientists to unfaithfully say "evidence suggests this".

Reldas. The fossils are not hidden away, protected from prying eyes by the evil evo conspiracy. If you want to see them so badly, simply go and see them.
