Did I ever mention that, when I read Job, I picture Jehovah and Satan sitting on the veranda in some southern plantation drinking mint julips? I probably have. Also, why does god have to ask Satan where he's been? Shouldn't he know?

Is it just me, or is it fishy that so many Christian ministries, and one of their TV Networks (Daystar) are named things like Morningstar and Daystar?

Also, wouldn't Christians argue that Satan was always evil, and was always there, as they equate the snake in the Garden of Eden with Satan? How would he then suddenly be tossed out of heaven and become as powerful as YHVH, even though YHVH is supposed to be omnipresent and omnipotent? These garbled passages strengthen my belief that Zoroastrianism comes into play. These are the places where the borrowed elements are roughly blended.

Just to further confuse the poor Christians, the Bible uses 'Morningstar' to refer (apparently) to both Lucifer and Jesus.

'Daystar' comes from Luke 1:78. It means the same thing.

Just to confuse the issue even further: Satan wasn't an agent to God in Job 1:6--he is one of God's ill-begotten sons.

I didn't read it that way:

Job 1
6 And the day is, that sons of God come in to station themselves by Jehovah, and there doth come also the Adversary in their midst.

But he sure can come into Jehovah's house pretty easily. Weird.

They are called born again Christians with a mandate to spread the good news around the world so JC can come again to relieve them from their torture: "and the smoke of their torment shall rise forever and ever. There shall be no relief day or night for those who worship the beast or its image or accept the mark of its name. This is what sustains those wholy ones, who keep the commandments and their faith in Jesus."

The key is the phrase 'sons of god' (bn El in Hebrew). We know from Ugaritic literature that this phrase refers to the Canaanite pantheon. El was the father of the gods - the 'sons of El' were the lesser gods of the Canaanite pantheon. (BTW - Job is thought to be a product of Northern Canaan, not Hebrew).

Satan is derived from Aramaic and is the Adversary (Hebrew is accuser). The spiritual meaning is the adversarial mind that is part of human nature and is the source of the ego or individual self. It is that mind that is dissolved into the abyss by the power of the essence of God (ousia or Jesus).

Venus is the planet that Isaiah is using to symbolically refer to the inner light of heaven falling or being bound up in the body-mind of humanity. This is to the detriment of the senses (nations) of the body-mind.
