Default Where does your god or gods reside

This is a question for the entire theist population. All religions of the world.
The hubble telescope as released a picture, one of many, That looked 12 billion years ago. This link will tell you the story. http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/s883956.htm3956.htm
an area one-tenth the size of the moon. If you would be able to look 360 degrees form the point of the hubble telescope, it seems reasonable that you would see galaxies in all directions. I would like to know who could tell me with scientific fact where this deity or god or gods reside. Can you prove beyond a shadow of doubt that it is true? A belief or faith is not acceptable. I mean absolute fact. I need this information before I can even remotely begin to accept any kind of a god or gods.

So don't accept any kind of god or gods. Theists gave up the idea of an actual physical bearded white guy sitting on a cloud a couple hundred years ago.

That stuff we see with the Hubble? That *is* god. You've already found him.

That's just it, he/she/it doesn't do any of things, because he/she/it is a product of the imagination and hopeful wishes of people.

I love that picture, and how it shows north and east. I sat there looking at it for a few minutes, with my computer oriented to correspond with it. Somehow it aids the imagination of this silly human being.

My god doesn't live there. That IS god.

everettf: Ooh, oh, I see the problem. You think "theist" means "Christian".

Ah. "Scientific fact". Meaning as if God could be put under a microscope or show in the lens of a telescope. Sorry, kid, but it just doesn't work that way. God, the creator of all scientific facts, transcends scientific investigation. There neither is nor will ever be scientific evidence or proof for God's existence.

No. While we are in our material bodies, God is hidden from us all. Normally, one sees God only after leaving the material body. No, I can't prove it; you'll believe me when you get there.

Too bad, since faith is the only way God can be perceived.

This is only partially correct (I hate to quibble).
Yes, God in his existential essence is AND ALWAYS WILL be imperceptible to us. However, the significance of the incarnation was that God (the eternal Son) became a man so that we could "see" God's "express image," i.e. "if you have seen me, you have seen the father."

We will never see God (as a spiritual entity), but we will forever behold the Son as the radiance of his glory.

That's interesting. You accept your own exitence, don't you?

What "absolute fact" that doesn't depend on your own experience do you have that you exist?

Theophilus, I don't believe God has a son. I'm unitarian, not trinitarian.
