Default Since we are comparing kitchen items:

Yeah we have wusthof and all-clad too.

For wusthof, we have the seven piece block set plus boning knife.

For all-clad, we have a frying pan, three sauce pans, a casserol pan, a mixing bowl, and a collander.

Philosoft- yes, my knife is exactly like the one in the picture. I knew the brand was well-respected in the industry, but I was surprised at how popular they were with home-chefs too. I don't live in a big city by any means, and I had to wait four months for the knife because the one I wanted (the "Santoku" with the granton edge) was backordered!

<tallys up the cost of all the enviable cookware>

My All-Clad set is being purchased piece by piece - I know it's cheaper buying it all in one go (one of those set things) but $695 is more than I can spare at a time! And those WSTHOF sets are spendy, too! Did you buy all at once, are seperately?

Tee hee, can I PM you about your significant other? I've been dreaming about becoming a chef . I know what you mean about scary knives - I looked at the 12" chef's knife and just about died - it looks like that big nasty thing in Psycho, for Chrissakes!

Now that you have that great knife, make sure that the next thing you get is a sharpening steel - and learn how to use it. Nothing worse that a great knife that hasn't been properly sharpened...

We got the knifes and one pot as wedding presents. Last Xmas my mother bought us the rest of the pots on sale and they came with two free items, the collandar and the bowl. My brothers got QVC ware and we got all-clad.
